The US Centers for Disease Control requires wearing face masks or any form of face coverings when going out of one’s residence. This is because they prevent the spread of COVID-19 when in a public setting.

  1. Follow social/physical distancing recommendations

When inside the ENT center, avoid sitting or standing within (at least) 6 feet from other patients. Along the way, when undergoing treatment or check-up, do your best to minimise contact with your doctor and his/her staff.

  1. Practice proper hygiene

Before and after your treatment or check-up, wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. In case they are not available, use alcohol or sanitiser with at least 60% solution and avoid touching your face.

  • Call your doctor

If you have a minor ailment, then you should first give your doctor a call and ask him/her what steps should be taken for self-care. Examples of minor ailments include sinusitis, ear infections, tonsillitis, speech and swallowing difficulties, and so forth.

  • Opt for a virtual visit

If your condition is more serious that your ENT professional needs to take a look; then,

opt for a virtual visit instead of a personal one. The former allows you to safely and conveniently see your doctor without leaving the comforts of your home. Here, all you need is an internet connection, desktop or laptop computer, or smart mobile device.

With the said mediums, you and your doctor can talk to each other and your doctor can determine if you need to head over to the ENT center for more extensive procedures.

  • Schedule an appointment

While some ENT centers still offer walk-in check-ups. It’s best to schedule an

appointment. This way, you don’t have to worry about long queues and in the process, reduce your chances of being infected by COVID-19.
